So, rented a car for the weekend to go see sights with daughter. The truck would not have made it, being stuck in traffic and the way it overheats.
Got a nice surprise when I picked it up. They upgraded the car because they were out of the compact which I had reserved. Got a very nice Buick Verano. It had heated seats, which daughter loved. Individual comfort settings for heat and AC. Back-up camera, nice stereo and side view mirrors with indicators to tell you if someone is in your blind spot. In spite of all that, it got really good gas mileage.
So, we went around and saw the Bugg Lights and the River of lights. Oddly, she didn't want to do much else this weekend. She mostly wanted to stay home.
Got a new space heater. The old ones are wearing out. Got a radiant heat parabolic heater which has no fan and uses half the energy of the old space heaters. However, it puts out so much heat you can feel it from over 10 feet away. Daughter spent too much time with her feet in front of it, until I saw her legs were turning quite red. She was basically getting a sunburn from the heater. Corrected that before any lasting injury occurred.
I was severely distracted yesterday. It was my murdered brother's birthday. I missed being able to call him. Finally let it out and cried last night after taking daughter back to her mother's house. Felt a bit better after that.
