Last night, the temp dropped to about 12 degrees. Doesn't seem to have gone any lower.
Still the coldest so far this winter. The dogs, the house and I made it through okay.
This morning, I started questioning myself whether I had installed the barrier for the swamp cooler, since they share the same venting. Thought I had some weeks ago. However, I climbed on the roof to make sure. Turns out I hadn't. Which means a good part of the heat being produced has been going right out of the swamp cooler into the sky. Bummer. Now that it's in place, it should make the furnace more efficient.
Talked to the bank yesterday and it turns out they are going to try and screw me. Instead of a lump sum of $1700 in January, they're saying I owe a lump sum of over $3000. Have to get things together and try to extend the assistance, so I can pay the extra money over a few months.
So much for starting the new year flush or ahead.
