I took half the day off from work yesterday, sick. Not sure if it was related to ulcerative colitis or a short-lived virus. Felt better today.
Lately, I have to say I have been getting fairly emotional. Not a bad thing for me. I realize I can often be too levelheaded. But there have been a lot of events which warrant a strong emotional response. For the most part, I still manage to rationalize my outward responses. Inside is a different story. The reason I have that response is just to be able to function and encourage the response of others.
There was another school shooting yesterday. 20 children killed. How does that NOT call for a response? The President was choked up when he made an announcement about it. The GOP response was truly deplorable. Jeb Bush said, "Stuff happens". Trump made an announcement supporting gun rights. No emotion whatsoever.
I've been posting very emotional statements all evening. I think this was the final straw for most Americans. The gun rights nuts have had their way for far too long. Their statements never made sense in the first place but have been proven wrong consistently. Now there is finally a growing shout for stronger gun controls. People are disgusted. Me chief among them.
